The Atla is a FTL capable frigate class war ship designed for fast response, fleet defense and easy manufacturing. Being the most common class in the ULC Fleet the Atla models are well known for their reliability and power. While originaly designed for combat it's most common use is as a small cargo vessel under independant ship commanders. Drawing it's power from a single TYPE-2 Hydrogen Fusion Reactor it's capable of sharing it's fuel with the single small-craft that can be stored in it's hangar. While not the most powerfull or fastest ship it's the perfect choice for new and experienced ship commanders.

Viewed ship:
This ship is the ULC Ironside, designation BA06-0021. The Ironside is commanded by Artran B'hala, a ship commander rewarded several times for exceptional valour. He was granted the Ironside after he lost his previous ship (a BA05 model) in defence of a damaged cruiser. The Ironside is currently stationed in the T'serrar fleet.

Using current navy ship sizes, I say this ship is in the size of a corvette.  Corvettes are typically 170 meters and shorter.
Though the small size does make sense in many aspects, namely overall cost.
Materials used, manufacturing cost, labor, R&D, fuel, resources.  A large ship would require a lot of logistics and a lot of upkeep to keep going but smaller ship are less demanding on the pocketbook.
